Best of: Drugstore Deep Conditioners

Dry hair, split ends, brittle hair, fly-a-ways, and static are something many of us struggle with which can really make things difficult as far as styling goes. If you are dealing with these issues on a regular basis, you should definitely be using a deep conditioner. These are some of the best drugstore deep conditioners, that will allow you to completely rejuvenate your locks without breaking the bank.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask ($7)

This deep recovery mask from Neutrogena rehabilitates extremely dry or over-processed hair with intense moisturization. Three naturally derived extracts work together to completely penetrate the hair from the center to the surface- olive, meadowfoam seed and sweet almond. This weekly treatment is so concentrated that you just need a small amount to make your hair soft, lustrous and shining.

L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm ($5)

The Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm is a rinse-out reconstructing balm that claims to repair one year of damage in one use. While that's quite the statement and maybe I wouldn't go that far, it definitely makes a huge difference. It's luxurious and powerful, and helps with split ends, roughness, weakness, dullness, and dehydration.

Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Moisturizing Treatment ($9)

This intense moisturizing treatment is super deep conditioning and also smells amazing. It will make your hair shiny and soft, and doesn't leave any heavy residue that weighs your hair down. Checkout my 25 Dupes for High-End Products post for another Organix deep conditioning product that's a dupe for the super-popular Macadamia deep conditioner.

Vidal Sassoon Moisture One Minute Pro-Series Mask ($5)

The Vidal Sassoon Pro-Series One Minute Mask helps hydrate and intensely condition your hair to make it soft, smooth and easy to work with. It truly does feel professionally-inspired as it works miraculously well.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition 3-Minute Undo Dryness Reversal Treatment ($6)

This one is actually a great dupe for the Frederic Fekkai Shea Moisture Mask (which is about $25). It will transform your hair with intense nourishment from olive, avocado and almond oils. The super-rich texture nourishes hair to the core for stronger, healthier hair.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner ($3)

This (extremely popular) Aussie deep conditioning mask is a real bargain at only $3 from Target and WalMart, but it works just as well as many high-end treatments. It hydrates and smooths dry, damaged hair with sea kelp, jojoba-seed oil and aloe and has a pleasant fruity-floral scent. After only three minutes, even the driest, most fried hair feels remarkably healthier.

How to Use Deep Conditioner

Deep conditioners should be used at least once per week if your hair is dry or damaged. To get the most effective results from your deep conditioner, apply a generous amount to clean, towel-dried hair and comb through with a wide tooth comb. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap and then apply heat to the area (try wrapping a hot towel around it or hitting it with the blow dryer for a few minutes). Let your hair absorb the conditioner for 10 to 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Dry and style as usual.
